Job purpose

The Mow Crew Member is responsible for performing high-quality lawn maintenance services, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing to ensure customer properties are well-maintained and visually appealing. This role supports the overall success of the landscaping team by operating equipment safely and efficiently, following company standards, and working collaboratively to complete jobs on schedule. The position requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

    • Mow lawns using various types of equipment, including push mowers, riding mowers, and string trimmers.

    • Trim edges around sidewalks, driveways, and garden beds using line trimmers or edgers.

    • Remove grass clippings, debris, and trash from lawns after mowing.

    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including checking for issues, cleaning, and reporting any problems to the supervisor.

    • Maintain a professional, friendly demeanor while interacting with clients.

    • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the job.

    • Assist with other landscape maintenance tasks as needed, including planting, weeding, and general upkeep.

    • Work as a team to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to the client's satisfaction.

    • Previous experience in lawn care or landscaping (preferred but not required).

    • Ability to operate and maintain lawn care equipment.

    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

    • Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as equipment or bags of mulch, and work in various weather conditions.

    • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    • Valid driver’s license (preferred for operating company vehicles).

    • This job operates outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Work is physically demanding and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods. The position involves operating commercial lawn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping tools in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    • This job requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

    • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier loads.

    • Frequent use of hands and arms to operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.

    • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including grasping, gripping, and fine motor movements.

    • Must have the physical stamina to work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.

    • Requires good balance, coordination, and the ability to work on uneven or sloped terrain.

    • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
