Job purpose
The Landscape Crew Member is responsible for installing, maintaining, and enhancing landscapes to ensure high-quality outdoor spaces for residential and commercial properties. This role includes tasks such as planting, mulching, sod installation, pruning, hardscaping, and general landscape maintenance. The position requires working efficiently as part of a team, operating landscaping equipment safely, and following company standards to complete projects on time. A strong attention to detail, physical endurance, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction are essential.

Perform landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing leaves/debris from lawns and walkways.
Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and garden beds.
Assist with the installation of hardscape features like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and fences.
Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools.
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed while following safety and environmental guidelines.
Maintain and clean equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
Communicate with clients to understand their landscape preferences and provide excellent customer service.
Ensure job sites are clean and safe, following all company safety protocols.
Work efficiently as part of a team to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.

Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance (preferred but not required).
Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
Knowledge of plant care, gardening, and landscape design (a plus).
Ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.
Reliable and punctual with good work ethics.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver’s license (preferred).

This job operates outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Work is physically demanding and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
The position involves handling tools and equipment such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, trimmers, and other landscaping machinery. Crew members may work on uneven terrain, slopes, and around potential hazards like thorns, insects, and dust.

This job requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier loads.
Frequent use of hands and arms to operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, including grasping, gripping, and fine motor movements.
Must have the physical stamina to work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement weather.
Requires good balance, coordination, and the ability to work on uneven or sloped terrain.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
